2009 New Jersey FIRST Robotics
Competition

Mini-Mentor Competion
This year the New Jersey FIRST Robotics Competition Planning
Committee is sponsoring the Mini-Mentor competition, The
guidelines are:
1) Pick your favorite mentor or a team
member that all look up to.
2) Design a statue of this person using
all of those spare parts that we all have hanging around.
3) Bring it with you to the NJ Regional.
We will have displays of all the mini-MEntors, maybe a parade
across the playing field, voting for the best and a special
prize/award for the best mini-MEntor!
4) Bring a poster with a few paragraphs
explaining why this particular person was chosen to be immortalized.
(it could sway the voting!)
5) Since this is a mini-Mentor, and will
need to be transported, please build it no taller than 2
feet and try to keep the weight below 30 pounds.
That’s all of the rules. How you build your mini-Mentor,
what capabilities it has, and how fancy it is are all up
to you. Make it walk and talk, if you want. Have it deliver
a message to all those in attendance, it can sing, it can
dance, it can juggle, it can do whatever you want it to
do BUT, please make sure that whatever
it does represents the person it is patterned after. For
any other information, please contact John Giardina (jgiardina@usfirst.org
or (732) 718-3734) and I will be glad to help.
